Comedian Bob Newhart and his wife, Virginia, have their Bel Air, California home on the market, according to the Los Angeles Times in August. The 92,000 square foot French Country home was bought by the Newharts in 1990 for $4.2 million and is currently on the market at $22 million. The house, designed by “renowned architect Wallace Neff, features five bedrooms, six-and-a-half baths. Built in the 1940s, it was recently restored.
The estate’s main house includes five fireplaces, terraces that overlook the lawns, several gardens and a pool. There is also an executive office suite with a separate entrance, a pool house with an outdoor kitchen and a guest apartment on the second floor.
Newhart had his own TV show on three different occasions between 1972 and 1992. He currently appears on the hit TV show “Desperate Housewives” in the recurring role of Morty Flickman.”
Actor Kevin Costner’s Hollywood Hills home was recently sold to American Idol host, Ryan Seacrest for $11.5 million, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The home, with many resort-like amenities, is a … “gated 10,000 square foot Spanish hacienda, which Costner purchased in 1995, sits on an acre of land. It has five bedrooms, staff quarters, a media room, a billiards room, a tennis court, gym, swimming pool and a spa.
Costner also owns homes in Santa Barbara, California and a ranch in Aspen, Colorado.
